FTO FTEP Directive Change

Section: B-1-d

Original
“complete a DOR for each tour worked with a PPO on field training except the last day of each cycle. If it is the last day of the cycle, annotate the last day's notes on the Cycle Summary Report or Final Summary Report”

Change To
complete a DOR for each PPO on field training assigned for that tour of duty. If it is the last day of the cycle, a DOR AND a Cycle Summary Report or Final Summary Report will be completed.

Reasoning
The last day of cycle should be evaulated as an individual tour of duty. The Cycle Summary Report or Final Summary Report is the evaluation of the cycle as a whole. Therefore two separate reports are necessary.

Section: B-5

Original
“FTOs will accumulate a half hour of overtime upon completion of DORs, CSRs, FSRs, or RSRs.”

Change To
FTOs will earn a half hour of overtime upon completion of EACH DORs, CSRs, FSRs, or RSRs.
NOTE: FTOs will submit the same number of overtime time reports as the number of PPO's assigned for the tour of duty.

Reasoning
Previous directive entry was not clear on this subject. There has been conflicting information between Time Keeping and The Watch

Section: VIII-A-5 and IX-A

Original
“Additional training cycles or further academic training remain decision of Department and may be added at any time during probationary cycle.” (S11-02, VIII-A-5)
“If necessary up to two remedial-training cycles will be completed to become field-qualified.” (S11-02, IX-A)

Change To
clarify if it is 2 or just at discretion of Department
Reasoning
no need for this contradiction within directive
