It has come to the Lodge's attention, that once again the CCSAO has been dropping or reducing charges against offenders who have physically battered our Officers.
We would like to remind Officers to make sure you fill out the Notice of Victim's Assertion of Rights form when seeking charges of Agg Batt and other charges where you are the victim.
Without this form there is no recourse when the CCSAO drops charges or makes deals with offenders in these cases.

Procedure - Invoking Your Rights

  • Complete the “Notice of Victim's Assertion of Rights” form
    • Checkmark and Initial each item on the form
    • Sign, Print, and Date the form
  • Disseminate the form as follows:
    • Original - goes with arrest packet
    • Copy - email and/or mail to FOP
    • Copy/Scan - for yourself
